Brendan Mulholland paints in his home studio in the village of Kilkerley outside Dundalk, Co. Louth, Ireland.
He began painting in the early 1980's but abandoned the canvas in favour of black & white photography for a number of years. Brendan took up the paintbrush again in 2004 and created a body of work 'Lines In Time', see Gallery Two.
Some of these paintings were inspired by the form and scale of the Nazco Lines of the deserts of Peru.
'Life' ( also see Gallery Two) is a series of paintings that are loosely inspired by aspects of the life cycle and elements of life itself.
These paintings were exhibited in May 2006 in The Beerkeeper Gallery Dundalk
in a combined exhibition with the painter Adrienne M. Finnerty
'Human Relations' (see Gallery One) is a more recent series of paintings that are inspired by aspects of the human condition and in particular human interaction and communication, or lack of it as appropriate. Brendan is curently working on a new series 'Us and Them'. All the new paintings will be exhibited later in 2006. Details to be announced. Watch this space!
